Privacy Policy

What Gagle is

Gagle ("we", "us") is an entertainment app built around AI characters. Every profile in the app is written and generated by us. None of them is a real person, and none of them represents a real person. Any resemblance is unintentional.

This matters for your privacy, so it is worth being blunt about it: there is no user-to-user contact on Gagle. You cannot message another person, another person cannot message you, and no other user can see your profile, your photos or your conversations. The only thing on the other side of a chat is software.

What we collect

• Account details. Your email address, or the identifier from Sign in with Apple or Google, used to create and secure your account.
• Profile details you add. Your name, birthday, gender, who you would like to see, where you are from, a short bio and your prompt answers. These shape which characters you are shown.
• A profile photo, if you add one. Photos you pick from your library are stored so your profile can show them. This is optional, and you can remove it at any time from Edit profile.
• Your conversations. The messages you exchange with AI characters, so a character can remember your history and pick up where you left off.
• Your activity in the app. Which profiles you liked or passed on, which chats you opened, and which conversations you pinned.
• Subscription status. Whether you have an active plan and which one. Payment is handled entirely by the App Store or Google Play; we never see your card details.
• Notification token. If you turn notifications on, a device token so we can deliver them. Turning notifications off in your system settings stops this.
• Device and usage data. Basic technical information such as device type and app version, plus which screens and features get used, for reliability, security and product decisions.

How we use it

• To run the app: signing you in, choosing who you see, and carrying your conversations.
• To generate replies. Relevant conversation content is sent to AI model providers so a character can answer you.
• To send the notifications you have turned on.
• To keep your account secure and to prevent abuse of the service.
• To improve the product. Some interactions are recorded as anonymized signals, stripped of who you are and what you said, so we can tell which parts of the experience work.

A small number of messages get flagged for human review: if a conversation appears to involve the sexualization of a minor, a credible threat, or another serious harm, the exchange is logged so our team can review and act on it. This is a safety measure and is not used for anything else. Our child safety standards explain that process in full.

AI processing

To write a character's reply, we send the relevant parts of your conversation to third-party AI model providers. They process it in order to return a response to you, and we ask them not to use it for anything else. We do not send them your email address or your payment details.

Character photos are generated once, when the character is created, from a written description we author. They are never generated from your photos, and your photos are never used to make them.

What we never do

• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
• We do not use your conversations to train AI models.
• We do not track you across other apps or websites.
• We do not show your profile, your photos or your messages to any other user, because there are no other users to show them to.

Who we share with

We share the minimum needed to run the service, and only with companies working on our behalf:

• AI model providers, to generate replies, as described above.
• Cloud infrastructure, which stores your account, conversations and photos.
• Notification delivery, to send push notifications to your device.
• Analytics, to understand which features are used. This is product measurement, not advertising.
• The App Store and Google Play, which handle purchases and tell us whether a subscription is valid.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect someone from serious harm.

Storage and retention

Your data, including any photos you upload, is stored on Cloudflare infrastructure and protected in transit and at rest. We keep your information for as long as your account is active.

You can ask us to delete your account at any time from Profile, then Account, then Delete account. When you do, we flag the account, stop showing it, and remove your data, keeping only what we are legally required to retain for a limited period. If you would rather not delete anything, you can pause your account instead, which hides it and leaves your conversations intact for when you come back.

Your choices

• Edit your details, or add and remove your profile photo, at any time from Edit profile.
• Turn notifications off in your system settings.
• Pause or delete your account from Profile, then Account.
• Sign out on any device to end that session.
• Ask us for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct it, by emailing the address below.

Depending on where you live you may have additional rights over your personal data, such as objecting to certain processing. Write to us and we will help.

Age

Gagle is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18, and we remove accounts we believe belong to a minor.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page, and we will tell you in the app when the change is a significant one.
